Ky-Mani Marley was an established Reggae Singer for many years. Born in Falmouth Jamaica, he was among the richest and most popular. He sang in Shottas with another singer Wyclef. Ky-Mani was signed to Shang Records where he recorded his debut album in 1996 With Father Like Son and several singles: Judge Not with Patra followed by Dear Dad" (which topped the British reggae charts) Who The Cap Does It (remix) as well as Sensimelia All of these contributed to his rising popularity in the new wave of reggae singers. Ky-Mani as well as Praswell from the Fugees joined together in 1997 to create Avenue which was a cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue. Marley performed at Midem (international music festival) during its time at Miami at the beginning of its run. At Midem's Cameo Theatre Marley performed a set which was aired live on the Caribbean News Agency to 36 nations. Marley was engaged in a bidding war.
